Unispice water source
A significant aspect of food safety and quality is water. Water plays a pivotal role in the agriculture industry, directly impacting the quality and safety of the produce. Impurities or contaminants in water can lead to significant issues in food safety, crop failure, reduced yield, and many others.
At Unispice, we make sure we not only have resilient water sources but that these are managed properly.
The water we harvest from rain is separated and used exclusively for irrigation. Our drip irrigation system means the water goes 10 cm into the soil, so it never touches the plant. Why is it important that it never contacts the plant? Simply because of food safety. Even when we filter our water and ensure it is clean and safe, we don’t use it for anything other than irrigation that has zero contact with the product.
Our other source of water comes from deep-water wells. This water meets the highest safety standards and we apply numerous controls, filters, and special treatments to guarantee purity and safety. It is not only the safest source of water but is also very predictable. The most important aspect of food safety is knowing where everything comes from, especially the water. Good agricultural practices need to be sustainable and controlled so we can guarantee transparency to the final consumer.
Our cutting-edge water management depends on these two sources of water. By tapping into deep water reserves and harvesting rainwater for drip irrigation, we ensure optimal water use. We also employ high tech to manage the water flow, minimizing waste and maximizing effort.
Water quality is a cornerstone of our success. By ensuring safe and high-quality water, we can produce superior crops, safeguarding consumer’s health and maintaining a healthy ecosystem.
